One of the many Christmas traditions that take place in North America is reading Christmas books. Children and adults alike have a large variety of Christmas books to choose from at their online and local bookstores and libraries. Some authors are so popularly read at this time that they have basically become synonymous with the Christmas season. Debbie Macomber is one of these authors. In fact, she is so well-loved by the public that many of her Christmas novels have been adapted to film by Hallmark, one of the most prolific and beloved film production studios in North America when it comes to Christmas movies.

WHAT TO LEARN:

“The Perfect Christmas” by Debbie Macomber is a sweet Christmas story just shy of 100 pages, so it is a great choice for those who are wanting to practice their reading comprehension in English without having to commit themselves to the typical 300-to-400-page novel. This book covers vocabulary related to Christmas, simple dialogue, speech description, paying for a service, relationships (strangers, neighbours, friends, dating, marriage), feelings, love and romance, personality, volunteering, food, American culture, and more!
