Consultation
30 minutes: $15.00 CAD

We are currently accepting adult students (aged 18+) with an intermediate to advanced English level.
DESCRIPTION:
Before booking a lesson with Josh for the first time, a potential student must schedule a
Consultation.
A Consultation is a one-time 30-minute meeting during which Josh will introduce himself, ask the student questions related to their English language experience, as well as explain to them his teaching methodology according to their language learning needs.
Consultations are obligatory for first-time students. If a student has already had a lesson with Josh before, then they do not need to schedule a Consultation.
Informal Conversation
30 minutes: $15.00 CAD
45 minutes: $20.00 CAD
1 hour: $25.00 CAD

We are currently accepting adult students (aged 18+) with an intermediate to advanced English level.
DESCRIPTION:
Informal Conversation lessons focus on a variety of conversational topics, each of which aims at providing the student with the opportunity to discuss subjects that affect our daily lives (e.g. personal life, culture, current events, etc.).
These lessons help bring confidence and comfort to the student in situations where speaking spontaneously is required outside the classroom.
Areas that these lessons focus on may include, but are not limited to:
spontaneity in speaking
vocabulary building
grammar in conversational context
intercultural learning
listening comprehension
reading
pronunciation
Formal Conversation
1 hour: $50.00 CAD
We are currently accepting adult students (aged 18+) with an upper-intermediate (B2) to advanced (C1) English level.
DESCRIPTION:
Formal Conversation lessons focus on a variety of conversational topics, each of which aims at providing the student with the opportunity to discuss advanced subjects that are typically reserved for more formal settings (e.g. science, health and medicine, technology, politics, psychology, philosophy, academics, business, etc.). Such conversations are based on previously completed homework that is comprised of a combination of listening or reading and writing.
These lessons help bring confidence and comfort to the student in situations where a high degree of listening comprehension and knowledge acquisition is required (e.g. meetings, presentations, conferences, university lectures, government, etc.).
Areas that these lessons focus on may include, but are not limited to:
listening and reading comprehension
bilingual recall
conversational paraphrasing
description
vocabulary building
language formality
grammar in conversational context
intercultural learning

Mock Interview

We are currently accepting adult students (aged 18+) with an intermediate (B2) to advanced (C1) English level who are looking to apply for a job where English is required.
DESCRIPTION:
Mock Interview lessons imitate the experience of attending a job interview with companies located in English-speaking countries, with particular attention given to Canada- and USA-based businesses.
These lessons help bring confidence and comfort to professionals’ speech in situations where formal application and interviewing is required.
Mock Interview lessons may focus on, but are not limited to, the following:

CELPIP Speaking Exam Preparation

We are currently accepting adult students (aged 18+) with an intermediate to advanced English level who must pass the CELPIP exam for Canadian immigration purposes.
DESCRIPTION:
CELPIP Speaking Exam Preparation classes introduce and explore the speaking portion of the Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP) exam, which is required for select immigrants who are moving to or already living in Canada.
These classes offer an in-depth review of the official speaking exam, providing advice on task strategies and language learning study.
Together, Josh and the student simulate the exam experience by doing a variety of CELPIP practice exams for speaking, which we provide. After each exam task, Josh gives the student constructive feedback on their response and attributes them a score that is made according to the official CELPIP marking criteria.
IELTS Speaking Exam Preparation

General Writing classes are collaborative environments where Josh teaches the student independence in writing through the live editing of previously assigned homework, relevant conversation and explanation for all corrections.
These classes aim to improve and deepen a student’s understanding of the English language in writing.
Areas of focus may include, but are not limited to:
grammar in writing
punctuation

formality and courtesy

Writing and Dictation classes are collaborative environments where Josh teaches the student independence in writing and speaking through the live transcription and editing of previously assigned homework that is read aloud by the student to Josh.
These classes aim to improve and deepen a student’s understanding of the English language in writing and pronunciation.

DESCRIPTION:
Reading with Music classes aim to improve and deepen a student’s ability to comprehend what they read in the English language.
These classes use a student’s favourite English-language songs to focus on areas, such as:
