Movember In Canada

—| B2 (upper-intermediate) |—

In Canada, the month of November is also known as Movember (Moustache November).

Generally speaking, moustaches have not been considered fashionable in Canada for decades, but every year during the month of November men of all ages across the country grow and maintain a moustache to spread awareness of male prostate and testicular cancer. In order to do this, some men get sponsored by friends, family, colleagues, and/or companies to publicly grow their moustaches. The funds raised from such sponsorship get donated to prostate and testicular cancer research.
