Practice Your Reading Comprehension
Many adults who learn languages choose to not read children’s books. This is not always a good idea, though. Children’s books are excellent tools for adults who are learning another language. These books use simpler vocabulary and grammar than adult literature does, so they can be really good for beginners and lower-intermediate speakers of the English language. If a person does not understand the words in a story, there are pictures there to help them better comprehend the meaning and the context in which the words are being used. So, starting your reading journey using children’s books can actually be helpful. The more children’s books you read, the more advanced you will become, until one day you will be reading the same literature you read in your native language.
