Great Big Sea is one of the most famous bands to come out of Canada. Their sound stays true to their Newfoundland and Labrador roots, as their rock songs often take inspiration from Celtic folk music–a genre of music that originated from modern-day Scotland, Ireland and Wales (among other European regions) and is a part of contemporary Maritime culture in Canada.

WHAT TO LEARN

“Ordinary Day” by Great Big Sea is a fun-loving banger that uses a variety of common English vocabulary and grammatical structures: positivity, perspective, informal language, the present simple, the present perfect, contractions, phrasal verbs including “to have got”, prepositions, idioms, and much more…!
