  1. “Black Lives Matter is one of the largest social movements in American history. It focuses on bringing awareness to and a solution for the racial inequality and discrimination that Black Americans have faced and continue to face every single day in the country. This movement is progressed through public conversation, protests and individuals standing up for racial injustice.”

  2. “Truth and Reconciliation is an example of a Canadian social movement that strives to recognize and spread awareness of the mistreatment and disregard experienced by Indigenous peoples in Canadian society due to government regulations. It encourages change in legislation and official operations to consider and recognize Indigenous experiences, both past and present, in the country’s journey moving forward. It aims to eliminate discrimination from both the systemic level and social level.”
