Every third Sunday in June is a national holiday in Canada known as Father’s Day. This day, similar to Mother’s Day, celebrates all the fatherly figures in one’s life. Whether that figure is a grandfather, uncle, family friend, stepfather, biological father, adoptive father, father of one’s child, etc., Canadians will spend this day, if not this weekend, showing their appreciation for one or many of these persons.

Ways in which people across Canada observe this holiday varies from family to family. However, some common activities include exchanging gifts, having a barbecue, going out for a meal, and doing an activity that the father figure enjoys. It is often a simple holiday full of love and family fun.

Do you have Father’s Day in your country? What do you typically do to celebrate? Let me know in the comments below.
