Practice Your Reading Comprehension

Listening to podcasts is a fantastic way to incorporate a listening comprehension activity into your life without having to set aside specific time to do so. It is an exercise that allows simultaneity, making it perfect to do while commuting, going to the gym, or completing household chores. If you have difficulty understanding something that is said, many podcasts provide notes on their episodes. This allows English learners to refer to a written form of the podcast, which gives them the opportunity to write down any vocabulary that they would like to learn more about and review later.

“Dish” is a podcast hosted by radio personality Nick Grimshaw and Michelin star chef Angela Hartnett. It is a cozy listening experience that surrounds having a meaningful meal with a celebrity guest. From actors to musicians, authors to comedians, and from all around the Anglosphere, this podcast is both an enjoyable and educational production.
